A Spring Break Trip To Coney Island!

I asked Augusten to pick any adventure he wanted to take during spring break, and his answer was “Coney Island!”

Granted, it’s the beginning of the spring season and literally nothing was open (and it was quite chilly!), but we had such a special day taking the long subway ride, getting warm-milk-and-honey from Dunkin’, building a fairy fortress on the beach, finding sea-glass and driftwood and shells, laughing about why the Wonder Wheel is called the Wonder Wheel (I wonder!;-), and why Coney Island isn’t called Rockaway Beach because there’s so many rocks! Such a sense of humor, this one!

We capped off the day right before the rain came with a visit to the IHop, and Augusten loved coloring in his fuzzy coloring book we picked up from Duane Reade. (Nobody loves small treasures and gifts quite like my Augusten!)

What a perfect spring break adventure, little man!
