We started off 2021 with a BANG...after renting a house in Upstate New York for Christmas week (I mean, how much more isolated/socially distanced could we possibly get?!), we returned to the city in January just in time for Augusten to return to in-person school, and BAM! Positive Covid tests all around😭

Thank goodness it was more the inconvenience of being quarantined in the apartment for (what felt like) the better part of January, and nobody actually had any really bad symptoms or reactions. But truly...the irony of staying inside almost all of 2020 just to finally catch it when we’re vacationing in the woods. Life writes novels, right?

February was a month filled with snow, a trip to the Museum of Natural History with Nana, a trip to Crystal Springs with Adi and Judebug, and the return of indoor dining in NYC! And of course plenty of time spent in our cozy little paradise cooking, cleaning, changing diapers, and doing it all over again:-) I know those are the days I love best of all.

March brought us visits to MOMA, the MET, and ice skating in Central Park.

Augusten is so happy to be back in half day kinder, and we have special time every day after school when he tells me all about his day as we take the bus home. Playing ā€œfood truckā€ has been one of the favorite games this winter. And of course, Augusten being the creative little man that he is, has adapted food truck into ā€œfood boatā€, ā€œfood airplaneā€, ā€œfood trainā€, ā€œfood busā€, ā€œfood snowplowā€, and ā€œfood bulldozer.ā€ Wow!

We celebrated 1 year of fostering Little M, which felt so surreal and so, so special. Judebug is now crawling everywhere on her belly, Adi says she looks like a special forces member, and Augusten calls her the little Garden Snake.

What a wonderful winter we’ve had! And how we can’t wait to welcome spring:-)
